Construction Notices

november 7th - November 13th, 2009

• Work will take place on the ground floor installing CMU blocks.
• Tarps will be installed on the exterior of the buildsing upper floors.
• Curbs will begin to be formed around the building.
• Work will begin at 9am per the City of Cambridge Noise Ordinance.

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

• No work will take place on Wednesday, November 11th, in observance of Veteran's Day.

Site Activities

• Concrete pours are scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th and Thursday, November 12th, weather permitting.
• Waterproofing activites will begin on the ground floor this week. The kettle will be placed on the north side of the site. Minor fumes may be noticed.
• All HLS deliveries are to use the temporary loading dock which can be accessed via Massachusetts Ave. just north of Pound Hall.  Police details are in place to assist with any HLS deliveries overlapping with construction trucks entering the WCC site.

Harkness Work

• Miscellaneous demolition will take place behind the partition wall in Harkness this week.
• Work will continue on the west side of Harkness.

NW Yard utilities project update

• Chilled water pipe welding operations will continue in the utility tunnel. Welding of galvanized recharge pipe will begin at the manhole in Kumble Plaza. This work at the manhole is expected to take several days. The manhole will be fenced off during the work and police details will be present.
• A mini-excavator will be utilized in front of Ames to replace the concrete coping on the ramp. This work is expected to generate minimal to moderate noise.

Police details will be present during the daily activities to ensure pedestrian and vehicular safety.
