- Forming slabs will continue.
- The installation of rebar will continue.
- Cleaning activities will continue on the basement level and the ground floor.
- Work will begin at 9am per the City of Cambridge Noise Ordinance.
There will be no work held on Monday, May 25th, in lieu of the Memorial Day holiday.
Site Activities
- On Tuesday, May 26th, paving operations will begin in the area behind the new loading dock at 8am. This work is expected to be completed by 2pm. Due to the potential odor, the air handling unit that feeds Pound Hall 106, 107 and 108 will be shut down during this operation.
- Mass excavation out of the north glory hole will continue. Trucks will access the site from Everett St. and exit via Massachusetts Avenue.
- Miscellaneous concrete curbs will be poured throughout the week. This will be poured directly from the truck. We will not have more than a few trucks a day and there will be no impacts to the loading docks.
- Slab extension from the new building into the west side of Harkness will be placed this week.
- Concrete pours are scheduled for Wednesday, May 27th, and Friday, May 29th, weather permitting.
- Slurry wall chipping will continue on the Level 1 & 2 Parking Area this week.
- Well drilling will take place in the southwest corner of the site.
- Work on the CMU block wall installation will continue on the P1 and P2 levels this week.
- Installation of ductwork will continue at the basement level and the P1 level this week.
- The ventilation duct located at the north end of the site will be removed this week.
- All HLS deliveries are to use the temporary loading dock which can be accessed via Massachusetts Ave. just north of Pound Hall. Police details are in place to assist with any HLS deliveries overlapping with construction trucks entering the WCC site.
Harkness Work
- Miscellaneous demolition will take place in Harkness this week.
- Miscellaneous mechanical demolition will take place in Harkness this week.
- The removal of regulated materials will take place this week.
- Underpinning activities will continue this week.
Police details will be present during the daily activities to ensure pedestrian and vehicular safety.
